Bicycling & Mountain Biking

Mohawk-Hudson Cycling Club
The Mohawk-Hudson Cycling Club is the largest recreational club in upstate New York, serving approximately 700 members who enjoy recreational road and mountain biking. During the season, scarcely a day goes by without several free, open-to-all day rides within a 60-mile radius of the Capital District and Saratoga Springs area.

Members lead more than 300 road and off-road rides per year, accommodating beginner through experienced abilities. In September, the club hosts an annual Century Weekend. Membership includes the BikeAbout monthly newsletter. Be sure to check out their Web site, www.webmhcc.org, which includes a wealth of information on bike maintenance, cycling safety tips, membership, cue sheets for popular club rides, and the club ride calendar.

Saratoga Mountain Bike Association
The Saratoga Mountain Bike Association was established in 2000 to gain access to privately owned land suitable for mountain biking. The club currently leases a 538-acre tract of Finch Pruyn land in Greenfield (near Saratoga Springs) that has one of the best trail systems in northeastern New York.

During the mountain biking season, members host weekly rides in Saratoga Springs, and their annual “Mix Up The Dirt” Festival. Rides are also scheduled for mornings and weekends, so check www.saratogamtb.org for updates. Twice monthly trail maintenance days are held on Saturdays and monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays. The club is a member of the International Mountain Bike Association as well as the USA Cycling.
